What do Joel Osteen, Michael Todd, TD Jakes, and the Passion Translation all have in common?

They claim to preach God’s Word, yet their theology revolves around self. They each teach a man centric

Gospel, which is no gospel at all. It is teachers like this which many people are obsessed with that have

“the appearance of godliness but they deny it’s power”.

How many warnings are there in the NT which describe enemies of the church are not those who are

outside the church, but inside.

“See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,‘ and they will

lead many astray.” Matt. 24:5

“And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased the

love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matt. 24:11-13

“I appeal to brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the

Doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their

own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve.” Romans 16:17-18

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the

sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness,

but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good

and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of

darkness, but instead expose them.” Ephesians 4:6-11

“Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while the evil people and

Impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:12-13

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will

Accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the

truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

“For there are many who insubordinate, empty talkers, and deceivers, especially those of the

Circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting families by teaching for shameful

gain what they ought not teach.” Titus 1:10-11

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will

themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of

truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words.” 2 Peter 2:1-3
